is -12mm offset a good idea?

tryna pick between 18mm and -12mm offset on some 20s for my truck i like the idea of a wider stance but not tryna deal with rubbing or kicking up a ton of rocks got 35s in mind so wanna make sure theyll clear also wondering if fender flares would be enough to cover it or if im asking for trouble with bearings and warranty stuff anyone running this setup that can drop some insight before i drop the cash

Not an expert when it comes to mods like these but based on my experience, wider rims can push the tires out so it might swing more. Got wide rims and big tires and they still rub when I make a turn. this is even after the fender was replaced

18mm offset will keep your 35s tucked in more if you wanna avoid stress on the bearings and rubbing too! -12mm might mess with the alignment and worsen wear on front end so just stick closer to the stock with the +18mm. Hope this is simple enough to understand.

Although a -12mm offset on 20x10s will provide a wider stance, it also increases the risk of rubbing and puts additional strain on the wheel bearings, particularly when used with 35s. Although they provide some coverage, fender flares cannot completely stop rubbing when traveling in suspension

With 35s, 18mm offset is less aggressive but safer for clearance and bearing longevity. Be prepared for potential upgrades or trimming if you want wider

pushing the tires outward and installing a lift kit will make it look killer. Without the lift kit I think you'll have some rubbing, so you'll need to trim or arch the fenders
