new Borla S-Type install burning paint smell

I put in a Borla S-Type this weekend and really like the sound, though it might be a bit too loud for my passenger.

I've been smelling a strong burning paint odor at every stop. Has anyone else experienced this after installing one? I'm wondering how long it typically takes for that smell to go away.

Did you check if the smell might be from the exhaust burning off factory coatings or paint? How many miles have you put on since the install?

Not me but a brother. The burning paint smell is normal, its just the coating on the new exhaust burning off. It typically goes away after a few heat cycles or a couple hundred miles of driving. No worries

I second this, it should be gone in a day or two depending on how much you drive. With that said, I'd still check if possible in case it's melting something it shouldnt.
